bleu returns home.

Thanks to Joann at A Bark Above, Bleu is home. John picked up Bleu from some friendly and protective neighbors on the corner of McGavock and Cardinal [at least that was where the "found large white dog" sign was spotted by Joann]. Bleu escaped June 18 around 11 a.m. and returned home Saturday sometime in the afternoon. The neighbor who found him said that he ate all of the other dogs food and howled all night...once bleu was home, he barely moved. He lay in the floor until the next morning...clearly exhausted...we are glad he is home!

our dog: Bleu

who is bleu?

he is our dog. we found bleu [aka butterball] at the Nashville Humane Association when Frances just turned one years old. He was a small white fluffly little thing with black ears! We never knew how BIG he was going to get [90-100 lbs] and we never knew what breed [great pyrenees/australian cattle dog?]...he hated the leash and we tried everything from supersoakers to load abrupt noises to get him to stop barking in our one bedroom apartment...

He is HAIRY. we vacuum twice a week and it seems that vacuuming is not quite enough...we spend hundreds of dollars on having him groomed at least once a month...and he loves it because he loves the attention Red Rover groomers give him!

Bleu is wild! but he loves our children...he protects them as they protect him...Jack lays in his furry belly even if I know he stinks, but that does not seem to matter to Jack...

He has always loved the opportunity of getting out of our yard...usually he stays close and is back home within a few hours. he still has his leash attached to his collar because he got away from me with josephine on my back...it was either josephine and i down on the ground or bleu romping until he was satisfied...

We have posted him missing on everything...we miss him and his pattering clanking feet...and his need to be close to the bed at night...

come home soon bleu.

spring bouquet.

frances initiated flower arranging and came up with this beautiful arrangement...yarrow, budliea, and lavender...

cilantro that got away..

and i thought that the seeds were duds! this plant was found growing by the driveway. A few other cilantro plants were found between weathered 2 x 4's on the other side of the driveway..
